Kelly MacMillan

Kelly serves as the Chief Financial Officer of the firm overseeing finance, risk management, human resources, and compliance.

Kelly joined EdgePoint as controller in 2009. Kelly has 25+ years serving similar roles for a broad range of professional service firms supervising administrative staffs and working directly with business owners and executive teams. She has provided leadership and guidance on financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, growth and improvement initiatives. Kelly began her career as a senior accountant at Arthur Andersen.

Kelly received her B.S. in Accounting from Miami University and is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive)

Tom Stafford

Tom Stafford, Jr.

Tom is a Managing Director, Partner with EdgePoint Capital Advisors.  In this role, he is responsible for advising the firm’s clients in matters related to mergers, acquisitions and financing transactions.

Prior to joining EdgePoint, Tom spent nearly 14 years at KeyBanc Capital Markets, Inc. in Cleveland, OH as a senior investment banker in the Mergers & Acquisitions and Financial Sponsor Groups.  During his tenure at Key, Tom worked closely with privately held and publicly traded companies, leading the execution of middle market transactions across a range of industries, with an emphasis on businesses in the Industrial, Energy and Infrastructure sectors.  His financial advisory experience includes buy and sell-side M&A transactions, public company mergers, fairness opinions, corporate divestitures, as well as a variety of debt and equity financings.  As a member of the financial sponsor coverage group, Tom initiated and led coverage of Energy and Infrastructure focused private equity fund sponsors.

Tom also served as a Vice President in the investment banking group at NatCity Investments, Inc. where he managed merger and acquisition transactions for clients in the industrial and manufacturing sector.  Prior to NatCity Investments, Tom spent 3 years as an Associate in the Investment Banking Division of McDonald Investments, Inc. where he worked in the M&A and Energy Groups.  he also served as a consultant in the Global Professional Services Group at CA, Inc. and held several positions at the Sherwin-Williams Co.

Tom earned his MBA in Banking and Finance with distinction from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University and earned his BA from the University of Michigan.

Russ Warren

Russ Warren

Russ serves as a Managing Director of the firm, managing client transactions, leading business development initiatives and providing leadership for the team.

He uses his extensive corporate finance experience working on exit strategies for private company owners, corporate divestitures, leveraged buyouts and clients looking to acquire businesses. His US and cross-border merger and acquisition experience, covering over 200 transactions, spans nearly all manufacturing, distribution, and services sectors.

He joined EdgePoint in 2008 from The TransAction Group, which he founded. Russ was the President, serving the merger and acquisition needs of entrepreneurs, corporations and family-owned businesses. Prior to founding the TransAction Group, Russ was Partner-in-Charge of the Mergers & Acquisitions Services practice of Ernst & Young (then Ernst & Whinney) for 10 years. He has been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Dealmaker Award from the Association for Corporate Growth. He is profiled in Who’s Who in Finance and Who’s Who in the World.

Russ’s educational background specialized in both business and engineering having earned his MBA from Harvard University and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University. He maintains FINRA Series 7, 63, and 79 licenses, and is also a CPA (Inactive).

Outside of work, Russ is a Trustee Emeritus of Case Western Reserve University, Vice-Chairman of the Case School of Engineering Visiting Committee, and a member of the Weatherhead School of Management Visiting Committee. He has been a Trustee of the Harvard Business School Club of Northeast Ohio, and the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad.

Formerly, he was President of the Association for Corporate Growth, an international organization of 14,000 merger and acquisition professionals, a member of the Alumni Board at Harvard Business School and President of the Harvard Business School Club of Northeastern Ohio. He was a director of Seneca Capital Management, a private equity firm near Pittsburg and Trustee of the Alliance of International Corporate Advisors. Russ resides in Lyndhurst and in his spare time enjoys reading and writing about the history of Northeast Ohio and an occasional round of golf.
