Chuck Aquino

Chuck is a Managing Director with EdgePoint Capital Advisors.  In this role, he is responsible for advising the firm’s clients in matters related to mergers, acquisitions and financing transactions.

Chuck brings almost 25 years of investment banking experience to EdgePoint, most recently as Managing Director of the Industrial, Commercial & Infrastructure Services practice at Citizens M&A.  Responsible for deal origination and execution, he worked closely with privately-owned, investor backed and publicly traded businesses in verticals such as commercial services, engineering and construction, vendor-managed services, environmental services, human capital management, business process outsourcing and others.  He was also Chair of the Fairness Opinion Committee and spent time on the Investment Banking Committee for engagement approvals.  Previous to Citizens, Chuck was a founding member and Partner of Western Reserve Partners, a leading M&A advisory services boutique founded in 2004 and acquired by Citizens in 2017.  In addition to leading the firm’s efforts in the Business & Commercial Services sector, he led the firm’s Financial Opinions practice and held various other managerial roles.  Prior to Western Reserve, Chuck was a Senior Associate at KeyBanc Capital Markets, an Associate at McDonald Investments and an Analyst at ING Barings in New York, where he started his career. 

In between Citizens and EdgePoint, Chuck served briefly as Chief Operating Officer at River SaaS Capital, a family-run venture capital firm providing debt and equity support to North American-based SaaS companies.  It was a tremendous learning experience with a first-rate team, but he quickly missed the role of “trusted advisor”, working alongside his clients’ in pursuit of their strategic objectives.  When presented the opportunity to get back to his boutique roots, the caliber of EdgePoint’s team, pipeline and business model were an enticing fit. 

Outside of the office, Chuck serves on the Boards of Directors of ACG Cleveland and Catholic Charities Dioceses of Cleveland.  Previous Board service includes Lake Erie Nature & Science Center, The First Tee of Cleveland, JCU Entrepreneurs Association and time spent as an Executive Volunteer with United Way of Great Cleveland.  He has earned several “40 Under 40” designations in his field and was a member of Leadership Cleveland’s Class of 2016.   

Chuck earned his BSBA in Finance, with a minor in Economics, from the Boler School of Business at John Carroll University.

Chuck resides in Bay Village, OH with his wife and three children. 

Chris Duncan

Chris is a Director at EdgePoint Capital Advisors, with nearly 10 years of experience serving clients on transactions involving mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, valuations, recapitalizations and other advisory work. Over the course of his career, Chris has played a leadership role in the execution of M&A transactions across the business services, industrial, and consumer sectors.  He has successfully closed buy and sell-side M&A transactions for entrepreneurs, private equity clients, and large and small public companies.

Prior to joining EdgePoint Capital Advisors, Chris worked as a Corporate Development Professional for ECMC Group, Inc. In this role, Chris helped launch an institutional investment management practice, advised on internal M&A activity, and was responsible for developing the organization’s direct principal investing strategy and program – partnering with founders and investors on a number of transactions.

Earlier in his career, Chris worked as a junior investment banker at Lazard Middle Market and Prestwick Partners in Minnesota. Chris received a BS in Business Administration from the University of Colorado at Boulder with an emphasis in Finance and minor in Economics.

Gary Dagres

Gary is a Director with EdgePoint Capital Advisors. In this role, he is responsible for advising clients in matters related to mergers and acquisitions.

Gary joined EdgePoint in 2018. Prior to joining the firm, Gary worked as a Senior Procurement Manager at General Electric’s Aviation division.  Gary began his career at GE as a Business Development Associate. In this role, Gary was integral in supporting a variety of transactions, focusing primarily on corporate acquisitions and divestitures.

He received his BA in Economics from The Ohio State University and his MBA with a concentration in Finance from The University of Notre Dame. He maintains the FINRA Series 63 and 79 licenses.

Gary resides with his wife Whitney and son in Northeast Ohio.

Tom Zucker

Tom Zucker

Tom serves as the President of the firm, managing client transactions, overseeing its day-to-day management and executing strategic initiatives.

Tom uses his extensive business and financial experience to assist business owners in completing transition events, acquisitions or recapitalizations. His diverse experiences range from executing corporate divestitures for General Electric to assisting small closely held businesses in executing family ownership transitions.

Prior to founding EdgePoint, Tom had almost a decade of financial and transactional experience at Ernst & Young and Arthur Andersen. Early in his career, Tom had a significant experience participating in a family business. He is active in several civic and professional leadership roles. He is also an advisor and board member of several private and public companies.

Tom’s educational background included a B.S. in Accounting from Case Western Reserve University. Tom is also a CPA (Inactive) and maintains the FINRA Series 7, 24, 28, 63, and 79 licenses.

Matt Bodenstedt

Matt Bodenstedt

Matt is a Managing Director with EdgePoint Capital Advisors. In this role, he is responsible for advising the firm’s clients in matters related to mergers, acquisitions and financing transactions.

Matt has held leadership positions in investment banking and with healthcare providers for more than 30 years. Prior to joining EdgePoint, Matt served as General Manager of multiple post-acute care business lines with combined revenue in excess of $100 million at ProMedica, a market-leading, fully-integrated health system headquartered in Toledo, Ohio, with over $7B in annual revenue. During his tenure at ProMedica, Matt also held leadership positions in Finance, Strategic Planning, and Corporate Development.

Before joining ProMedica, Matt cofounded and served as a Senior Partner at Vector Strategies Group, an Ann Arbor-based M&A advisory and strategy consulting firm specializing in healthcare. Early in his career, Matt served in a variety of roles with Health Care and Retirement Corporation (now HCR ManorCare), including as Executive Director, Development. His transaction experience includes buy and sell-side M&A, joint ventures, and strategic affiliations across a broad spectrum of healthcare services.

Matt earned his BBA in Finance, with honors, from the University of Toledo, and his MBA from the University of Michigan.

Matt and his wife Karla enjoy exploring northeast Ohio, volunteering, and traveling to spend time with friends and family.

Paul Chameli

Paul Chameli

Paul is a Managing Director with EdgePoint Capital Advisors. In this role, he is primarily responsible for managing the execution of merger and acquisition and financing transactions.

With nearly twenty years of diversified financial advisory experience, Paul offers a comprehensive and multi-disciplinary perspective on transactional practice. He has advised both privately-held and publicly-traded companies, in a spectrum of industrial end markets, on merger and acquisition and capital structure alternatives. His experience includes work in the transportation and infrastructure, rail products and services, automotive, metals, capital equipment, industrial service, and engineered product industries.

Prior to joining EdgePoint, Paul worked as a middle market investment banker at Plante Moran Corporate Finance, where he executed industrial merger and acquisition and financing transactions. Prior to PMCF, Paul was a member of the Corporate Development department of Wabtec Corporation (NYSE:WAB), a $3 billion manufacturer of engineered products for the locomotive, freight, and transit rail industry. In this role, he managed the identification, pursuit, and structuring of domestic and cross-border acquisitions and joint venture arrangements. Before his work at Wabtec, Paul was an investment banker at a boutique firm in Chicago, focused on middle market industrial transactions.

Earlier in his career, Paul worked as a financial due diligence advisor, advising strategic corporations and private equity firms on buy-side transactions, as well as a tax attorney.

Paul earned a law degree from the State University of New York School of Law and an MBA / BBA from St. Bonaventure University. He is a licensed securities representative, holding the Series 79 and 63 registrations, as well as a licensed (inactive) attorney and CPA in the State of New York.

John Herubin

John Herubin

John serves as a Managing Director, Partner of the firm, initiating key relationships, leading business development initiatives and providing leadership for the team.

He leverages his technical and business experiences to identify and advise companies contemplating ownership transition through a sale, acquisition, or management buyout. He has a proven track record of delivering creative and innovative solutions to lower middle market businesses, with a focus on entrepreneurs and closely-held family enterprises.

He joined EdgePoint in 2006 from Merrill Lynch. There, John was a Senior Commercial Finance Manager, a role in which he managed a team that delivered of a wide range of financial solutions to over 1,800 financial advisors and their clients in a five state region. Before joining Merrill Lynch, John was a Senior Vice President at KeyCorp where he provided ownership transition consulting services to over 600 closely-held family businesses and entrepreneurs. He subsequently provided investment banking services (acquisitions/divestitures) to private and publicly-owned middle market companies. In addition, John spent 9 years in public accounting as a tax and business consulting professional with Ernst & Young and Skoda Minotti Reeves & Co.

John earned his Bachelor’s degree in History from Youngstown State University, and subsequently earned his Juris Doctor degree from Cleveland State University. He is also a CPA (Inactive) and maintains the FINRA Series 7, 24, 63, 65, and 79 licenses.

John is currently an active member of several community and professional organizations including the Ohio State Bar Association and Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association. John has participated as a speaker and contributor to a number of professional educational seminars. He is the former Investment Committee Chair for Notre Dame Schools, is the Board Chair for the Ursuline High School Endowment Fund Inc., in Youngstown, Ohio, and is an Executive Council Member for Prevent Blindness Northeast Ohio Chapter. Outside of work, John resides in Mentor with his wife, and enjoys spending time with their three children, reading and collecting sports memorabilia. His favorite vacation escape is on Fripp Island in South Carolina.

Matt Keefe

Matt Keefe

Matt is a Managing Director, Partner with EdgePoint Capital Advisors. In this role, he is responsible for advising the firm’s clients in matters related to mergers, acquisitions and financing transactions.

Prior to joining EdgePoint, Matt served on the corporate management team of ERICO International, a privately-held manufacturer. During his tenure at ERICO, Matt held the roles of Treasurer, Director of M&A, Director of Customer Service and Director of Commercial Operations.

Before joining ERICO, Matt was an investment banker serving in various capacities at KeyBanc Capital Markets, Bruml Capital and Key Corporate Capital. In all of these roles, Matt was focused on advising middle market companies and private-equity groups on leveraged financings, sales and other strategic alternatives

Matt received his BA in Finance from Miami University and his MBA from the CWRU’s Weatherhead School of Management.

Matt resides in Northeast Ohio with his wife and his three children.

Kelly MacMillan

Kelly MacMillan

Kelly serves as the Chief Financial Officer of the firm overseeing finance, risk management, human resources, and compliance.

Kelly joined EdgePoint as controller in 2009. Kelly has 25+ years serving similar roles for a broad range of professional service firms supervising administrative staffs and working directly with business owners and executive teams. She has provided leadership and guidance on financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, growth and improvement initiatives. Kelly began her career as a senior accountant at Arthur Andersen.

Kelly received her B.S. in Accounting from Miami University and is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive)

Tom Stafford

Tom Stafford, Jr.

Tom is a Managing Director, Partner with EdgePoint Capital Advisors.  In this role, he is responsible for advising the firm’s clients in matters related to mergers, acquisitions and financing transactions.

Prior to joining EdgePoint, Tom spent nearly 14 years at KeyBanc Capital Markets, Inc. in Cleveland, OH as a senior investment banker in the Mergers & Acquisitions and Financial Sponsor Groups.  During his tenure at Key, Tom worked closely with privately held and publicly traded companies, leading the execution of middle market transactions across a range of industries, with an emphasis on businesses in the Industrial, Energy and Infrastructure sectors.  His financial advisory experience includes buy and sell-side M&A transactions, public company mergers, fairness opinions, corporate divestitures, as well as a variety of debt and equity financings.  As a member of the financial sponsor coverage group, Tom initiated and led coverage of Energy and Infrastructure focused private equity fund sponsors.

Tom also served as a Vice President in the investment banking group at NatCity Investments, Inc. where he managed merger and acquisition transactions for clients in the industrial and manufacturing sector.  Prior to NatCity Investments, Tom spent 3 years as an Associate in the Investment Banking Division of McDonald Investments, Inc. where he worked in the M&A and Energy Groups.  he also served as a consultant in the Global Professional Services Group at CA, Inc. and held several positions at the Sherwin-Williams Co.

Tom earned his MBA in Banking and Finance with distinction from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University and earned his BA from the University of Michigan.
